• Watergirl: Move left, right, and jump using the A, W, and D keys. Watergirl wades effortlessly through blue water pools and gathers blue gems, but touching lava or green toxic slime is fatal.

To complete each stage, guide both elemental heroes to their corresponding doorway icons—marked with a flame for Fireboy and a droplet for Watergirl. Stepping on pressure plates lowers bridges or opens colored doors only while weight remains on the plate, whereas wall levers flip mechanisms permanently until toggled again. Green acid pools are lethal to both characters, so jump across them with care.

Tips for clearing the temple

• Scout the hazards before moving: Take a few seconds at the start of each level to survey the layout. Identify which levers control which gates, spot the locations of toxic green acid, and plan the order in which each character should advance.
• Use heavy boxes on pressure plates: Whenever you find a movable stone block, push it onto floor buttons so neither Fireboy nor Watergirl needs to stay behind holding a door open.
• Communicate on moving lifts: If playing with a friend, count down jumps together when riding moving platforms. Moving before a partner lands safely can strand them or knock them into a hazard below.
• Collect matching gems for rank: Aiming for the fastest clear time and gathering all color-coded diamonds rewards you with the highest rank on the level select map.
